![]() ![]() I’ve been hoping for something to replace Twitter and Facebook for awhile now (since Twitter was ruined and Facebook has been less and less personal for years) - so naturally Threads intrigued me. Whether you come over from X, jump in from Instagram, or even dip your toe into social media for the first time, you’ll find Threads is a fun and engaging place to follow the famous and interact with the rest of us. I’ll miss the ad-free experience when it ends. Eventually ads are expected (no free platform can last without revenue), but in 2023 Threads is building its user base and there are none. ![]() I’m skipping specifics so this review isn’t out of date in a couple of weeks. New features are added nearly every week, yet the platform is granite stable. It’s the threaders themselves that are making Threads a fun and friendly place. There’s plenty of lively debate on every topic under the sun most Threads communities preach proactively blocking trolls. What it does have is millions of new users making new connections, and interacting for the most part in a refreshingly civil manner. Threads is still in its “new” phase, so it may not have every feature you want, yet. In the future, there will be ways to discover more content and reach wider audiences: we are planning features that allow you to search for, follow and interact with users on open, interoperable social networks that we believe can shape the future of the internet.
